For me, today marks a full year of being on deviantART! At this point, I'd like to share my story about how I ended up on deviantART.
I'd actually heard about deviantART around a couple of years before I joined. At first, I thought you had to pay to be a member. Judging from the front page, I also thought they wouldn't let you join unless you had professional-level art skills. For quite a while though, I'd thought about making my own comic strip (Roocan) which I could post online, and dA seemed like a nice place to do so. Just before I became a member of dA, I tried my hand at a few drawings just to see how well I could draw. By the time I decided to join, I found out how much I enjoyed drawing, so I ended up working on both my comic and separate drawings!
To be honest, I would've been reluctant to join in the first place if I hadn't noticed the big variety of people around here. I sort of wish I'd have gotten into drawing and perhaps joining this website a bit earlier. Last year, I actually considered joining SheezyArt instead, but eventually I decided to go with deviantART since I discovered more people I knew from elsewhere were on dA.
Finally, a big thank you to everyone who's supported me and enjoyed my artwork over the past year!

It's not that I don't like communists. I just don't like them near me.
